The company mediates between EU workers and Dutch companies in the logistics, production, food and green sectors. With this, Workstead is strengthening its presence in the region. We assisted Bastide le Confort Medical, a leading European provider of home healthcare services, with its recent participation in Oxigo B.V., a company specialized in consulting and online sales of oxygen therapy and respiratory care equipment. With this participation, Bastide is entering the Netherlands in the fast-growing respiratory care segment.
Pellicaan Advocaten advised the international parcel delivery company Venipak with the acquisition of the e-commerce wholesaler Strengholt Entertainment BV, based in the Netherlands and active throughout Europe. The transaction forms the basis for the expansion of Venipak’s full e-commerce order fulfilment in Europe.
The Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) has decided that the use of Google Analytics constitutes a violation of the GDPR. The Austrian privacy regulator ruled that when using Google Analytics, personal data (including user identifiers, IP addresses and browser parameters) are shared with Google in the US. Following the Schrems II ruling of the European Court of Justice, personal data may only be transferred to third countries if sufficient additional safeguards have been created. The user of Google Analytics in this case did not comply with this obligation.
For multinational companies that start their business in the Netherlands, it can be tempting to use the international template of an employment agreement to hire employees in the Netherlands. This is generally not recommended, due to the particularities of the Dutch employment system with its specific laws and regulations.
